HENRY TIETGEN, 73, DIED IN OMAHA SUNDAY

Henry George Tietgen died Sunday evening, October 1 at the Eppley Care Center in Omaha, at age 73 years, 5 months, 11 days. He was born on April 20, 1899 to Henry and Emma Tietgen who operated a farm near Kennard.

On March 3, 1920, he was united in marriage to Elvera Sunds and they devoted their life to farming. To this union were born two daughters, Opal (Mrs. Jim) Timperley of Omaha and Delores (Mrs. Leonard) Schmidt of Schuyler, Nebraska. Henry was preceded in death by his parents and by four brothers and one sister. Surviving him are four brothers, Albert and Otto of Herrick, South Dakota; Hans of Naper, Nebraska; and Chris of Wayne, Nebraska; and three sisters, Mrs. Amanda Svogerson of Kennard; Mrs. Fred (Meta) Knacht of Wheaton, Minn.; and Emma (Mrs. Elmo) Overset of Paramount, Calif. There are also four grandchildren and one great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Pastor Keith Sackett officiated at the funeral which was held in the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, October 6, at 2:00 p.m. Interment was in the Prairie View Cemetery near Kennard.
