Donald LeRoy Parsons, 78, of Fort Calhoun, died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014, in Grand Island.

Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Fort Calhoun. Interment will be in the Fort Calhoun Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, with a vigil service at 7 p.m. at the church.

Donald LeRoy Parsons was born Feb. 26, 1936, in Fremont.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Parsons; sons: Jeff (Sharon) Genoways and Jon (Sidney) Genoways, all of Fort Calhoun; brother, Clarence L. Parsons of Grand Island; and grandchildren: Sara, Kelsey, Madison, Joe, Jacob, Grace and Sam Genoways.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Bessie Parsons; and brothers: Ted Parsons Jr. and Dale Parsons.

Memorials are suggested to: St. John The Baptist Catholic Church or the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church Building Fund.

Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home in Fort Calhoun is in charge of arrangements.
