ERNA EMILY TIMM, 83

Services for Erna Emily Timm, 83 of Fremont who died August 9, 1995 were Saturday, August 12 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont. Rev. David Loeschen officiated. Burial was in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in rural Hooper.

Erna Emily Timm was born February 16, 1912 in Redwood Falls, Minnesota to Daniel and Regina Niebuhr Timm.

In 1921, her family moved to rural Washington County where she attended Immanuel Lutheran School and was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church.

In 1930, she moved to Fremont where she was a housekeeper and cook. From 1934 to 1960, she was a member of the Charles E. Abbott family and from 1961–70 she was with the family of Dr. Robert C. Byers.

She became a waitress at Al’s Café in 1971 and then moved to Kindler’s Café where she worked until her retirement in 1987.

She was well known for her chair caning, quilting and rug braiding and her expertise in repairing and refinishing antique furniture.

She was a member of the Fremont Bowling and Archery Associations and the Tea Leaf China Collectors Club. A lifetime member of the Dodge County Historical Society, she belonged to Trinity Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her sister, Gertrude (Mrs. Martin) Ohide, six nephews, six nieces, 45 grandnieces and nephews and many friends.

Pallbearers were Jeff Otott, Tim Ohlde, Craig Gish, Jamie Otott, Terry Ohlde and Jon Carr.

Memorials may be directed to her churches and the May Museum of the Dodge County Historical Society.
