LARRY L. TIMME, 66

Funeral services for Larry L. Timme, 66, 1710 Gaeth Ave., was 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church East.

Mr. Timme died of a heart attack Friday, Nov. 4, 1988, at Bryan Memorial Hospital, Lincoln.

He was born Feb. 8, 1922, in Iowa City, Iowa. He was the son of Herman & Lorena (Hartung) Timme. He was raised in the Fremont-Hooper-Arlington area. He farmed most of his life and retired in 1983. He also owned Larry Timme Auction Co. for 30 years, retiring in January. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He belonged to Trinity Lutheran Church, American Legion Post No. 71, Arlington, and Fremont Eagles Aerie 200.

Mr. Timme married Rachel Henneman April 2, 1944 in Hooper. She survives.

Other survivors include two sisters, Darleen, (Mrs. Harlan) Moll, Fremont; and Mardell (Mrs. Vincent) Pergola, Punta Gorda, Fla.

The Revs. Donald Levenhagen and Craig Schultz officiated. The Ludvigsen Mortuary was in charge with burial in the Memorial Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Elmer Krohn, DeVern Wegner, Robert Weiss, Ray Timme, Kenneth Timme, Lee Moll.

LARRY L. TIMME was born February 9, 1922 at Iowa City, IA. He was the son of Herman and Lorena nee Hartung Timme. He was baptized on February 14, 1923 in Iowa City. His Confirmation vows were spoken on April 14, 1935 at Immanuel Lutheran Church near Hooper, NE.

On April 2, 1944 he was joined in marriage to Rachel nee Henneman at Grace Lutheran Church of Hooper.

Mr. Timme lived in the Fremont, Hooper, Arlington area most of his life. He farmed until 1983, when he retired from farming. He was also an auctioneer for 30 years, retiring in January of this year. He served in the Army in the 2nd World War. He was a member of American Legion Post # 71, Arlington; and an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Fremont; presently serving on the congregation’s Board of Finance.

He departed this life on Friday, November 4, 1988 at the age of 66 years, 8 months and 27 days.

He is survived by his wife, two sisters, Mrs. Harland (Darleen) Moll, Fremont; and Mrs. Vincent (Mardell) Pergola, Punta Gorda, Fla.

His mortal remains are laid to rest in Memorial Cemetery of Fremont, following divine services at Trinity Lutheran Church on this day, Nov. 8, 1988.

Memorials have been designated to Trinity Lutheran Church.
