Raymond C. Olson, 91

Raymond C. Olson, 91, of Blair, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 15, at Jefferson Prairie Lutheran Church in Poplar Grove, Ill.

Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, with a prayer service at 10:30 a.m. at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair.

Raymond C. "Ole" Olson was born May 5, 1919, in Rock County, Wis., to Carl and Inga (Johnson) Olson.

He owned a milk hauling business for 29 years, picking up milk from farmers and delivering to dairy processors. Later, he worked for the Rock County highway department.

In 2000, he and his wife moved to Blair to be closer to their son and daughter-in-law and family.

On July 6, 1946, he married Ethel Christiansen; the couple celebrated 64 years of marriage this year.

He is survived by his wife, Ethel; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Dianna Olson of Kennard; two grandchildren, Sherri (Olson) and Tim Mitchell of Omaha, and David Olson and fiancée, Carly Bressman of Council Bluffs, Iowa; one great-granddaughter, Ella Mitchell; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Doris Johnson of South Beloit, Ill., Evelyn and Dick Hade and Frances and Earl Smith of Rockford, Ill.; sister-in-law, Pearl Olson of Monroe, Wis.; and special friend, Lucy Dack.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister-in-law, Clifford and Clara Olson and Irving Olson; sister, Viola Larsen; and brothers-in-law, Phil Johnson and Don Larsen.
