Mrs. Jesse Smith Rites Here Saturday

Mrs. Jesse Smith, 98 year old Washington county pioneer, died at her home in Watertown, South Dakota Tuesday, June 8th. She was the oldest Pioneer of Washington County at the time of her death. For many years when the Pioneers and Old Settlers Association was active, she made the annual trip here to attend the picnic.

Mrs. Smith was the mother of the late Zenos Smith, one time Blair business man. She is survived by Mrs. Olga Allen, and Mrs. Nell Aye, both of whom are sisters. There are also three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1 P.M. at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Blair and burial will be in the Ft. Calhoun Cemetery.
