Mrs. R. O’Hanlon and family arrived from Oklahoma about two weeks ago and are now located in Dexterville. During the trip to Blair, Gertrude, the seven year old daughter of Mr. N. L. Titus, a son-in-law of Mrs. O’Hanlon, scalded her arm. She took cold, the sore developed blood poisoning, causing her death last Tuesday morning. The funeral was from the home at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday of this week. Rev. W. D. Stambaugh, of Craig, assisted by Rev. Barton of this city, officiated and the burial was in Blair cemetery.

#2 18 Nov., 1897 - The Pilot - Gertrude Titus

Gertie Titus, the little child of Mr. and Mrs. Titus, died Tuesday morning and was buried today. The funeral took place at the house this morning at 10:30. As Mr. and Mrs. Titus were coming from Oklahoma by team the little girl in some way got her arm burned. The mother at once took the train for Blair. The child was placed in a physician's care and was apparently doing nicely until yesterday morning when it very suddenly dropped away, blood poisoning having set in. | Mr. and Mrs. Titus are well known here, Mrs. Titus being a sister of Clark O'Hanlon. They have the sympathy of their many friends in their sad bereavement.
