Services for Kenneth H. Toebben, 71 of Nickerson who died April 29, 1994 at Memorial Hospital of Dodge County will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 3 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, north of Arlington. Rev. Michael L. Rogers will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery.

Kenneth H. Toebben was born February 26, 1923 in rural Nickerson. A farmer and livestock feeder, he lived on the farm where he was born his entire life.

He served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II.

He was a life-long member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, had served as a church elder and on the St. Paul School Board, was a member of St. Paul’s Choir and was a past member of the Lutheran Layman’s League. He was a member of and served many years on the board of directors of the Nickerson Farmers Coop. He was also a member of the Washington County Livestock Feeders and the Nebraska Livestock Feeders Assoc., Arlington Lions Club and the Arlington American Legion Post No. 71.

He married Loraine Feyerherm August 18, 1946 at West Point, Nebraska.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry C. and Emma Giesselman Toebben and a brother, Perry.

He is survived by his wife, Loraine; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Janice Toebben of Lawrence, Kansas; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Dan Wolfe of Arlington; brother, Delmer Toebben of Ralston; a daughter, Beverly Toebben; Robert Spitzmiller of Mandeville, Louisiana and six grandchildren.

Memorials may be directed to the church or the American Cancer Society.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington is in charge of arrangements.

Kenneth Henry Toebben, the son of Henry C. and Emma (Giesselman) Toebben, was born February 26, 1923 at Nickerson, Nebraska. He grew up and lived on the same farm all his life, where he farmed and was a stockman. He was a graduate of Arlington High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corp during WWII. He was a life long member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, north of Arlington, member of St. Paul’s Choir and had served as a church elder, was on the St. Paul’s School Board, and was a past member of the Lutheran Layman’s League. He was a member and served for many years on the Board of Directors of the Nickerson Farmers Coop, and was a member of the Washington County Livestock Feeders and Nebraska Livestock Feeders Association. He was also a member of the Lions Club and the American Legion Post # 71, both of Arlington.

Kenneth married Loraine L. Feyerherm on August 18, 1946 at West Point, Nebraska.

Kenneth passed from this life on Friday, April 29, 1994, at Memorial hospital in Fremont, Nebraska at the age of 71 years, 2 months and 3 days. He is survived by his wife, Loraine; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Janice Toebben of Lawrence, Kansas; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Dan Wolfe of Arlignton; daughter Beverly Toebben and Robert Spitzmiller of Mandeville, Louisiana; brother, Delmer Toebben of Ralston; and 6 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Perry Toebben.
