Loraine L. Toebben, 87, of Fremont, died Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, at Nye Legacy in Fremont.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, north of Arlington. Interment will be at St. Paul’s Cemetery.

Loraine L. Feyerherm was born May 20, 1922, in West Point to Fred and Ida (Kuester) Feyerherm. She was raised on a farm near West Point and graduated in 1939 from West Point High School as valedictorian. She worked for a time at a dairy company in West Point, then moved to Fremont and worked at the Nebraska Ordnance Plant in Mead, and the U.S. Employment office in Fremont.

On Aug. 18, 1946, she married Kenneth Toebben at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in West Point. After their marriage, the couple farmed near Nickerson. Mrs. Toebben moved to Nye Court in Fremont in 2008.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Arlington, the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, Arlington Lions Club and the Happy Hour Extension Club. She was also a volunteer worker at the Fremont Area Medical Center.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Janice Toebben of Pasadena, Calif.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Beverly Toebben and special friend Denis Villere of Mandeville, La., and Susan and Dan Wolfe of Arlington; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Arlin Feyerherm of Lenexa, Kan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, in 1994; four brothers; and one sister.

Memorials are suggested to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, the Fremont Area Medical Center Auxiliary, or Odyssey Hospice.

Reckemeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington is in charge of arrangements.
