Mrs. Mundorf dead at 91

Rites At Baptist Church Friday For Aged Blairite Who Died Tuesday

Mrs. Elsena J. Mundorf, 91, of 106 east Grant street, died Tuesday evening at Methodist hospital in Omaha, three months after suffering a broken leg in a fall at her home.

The body was brought to the Campbell mortuary here, and tonight will be taken to her home. Funeral services will be held at First Baptist church at 2 p.m. Friday, the Rev. D. D. Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in Blair cemetery.

As Elsena J. Johnson, Mrs. Mundorf was born April 6, 1851, at Kirkwood, Illinois. She and Zachary Taylor Mundorf, who had served in the Civil war with the 11th Illinois Cavalry, were married in Illinois and later came to Nebraska in a covered wagon. For many years they farmed near Herman, then moved to a farm south of Blair. Finally retiring from the farm, they moved into Blair, where Mr. Mundorf died July 3, 1909.

Mrs. Mundorf is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Henry Jurgensen, Mrs. John Meyer and Mrs. Edith Crowell, all of Omaha; three sons, Ed and George Mundorf of Blair and Sam Mundorf of Kansas City; and a stepson, Q. M. Mundorf of Valentine. There are many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

MRES. E. J. MUNDORF, 91, DIES IN HOSPITAL

Mrs. Elsena J. Mundorf, 91 year old Blair resident, died at the Methodist Hospital in Omaha Tuesday evening following a three month illness. She was the widow of Zachary T. Mundorf, a Civil War veteran, and an early resident of this vicinity.

Survivors include three sons, Edison and George of Blair and Samuel of Kansas City, Missouri; three daughters, Mrs. Henry Jorgensen, Mrs. John Meyer and Mrs. Edith Crowell of Omaha; also a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held in Blair at two o’clock Friday.
