Kenneth Mullins, 71

Services for Kenneth “Moon” Mullins, 71 of Herman who died suddenly April 13, 1992 in Omaha will be Friday, April 17 at the Herman Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Herman Cemetery.

A prayer service will be held Thursday, April 16 at 7:30 p.m. at the Campbell-Aman Funeral Home. Visitation begins at 9 a.m. Thursday.

Kenneth Gordon Mullins was born April 16, 1920 at Humboldt, Nebraska to John and Lucy Shaffer Mullins. He grew up in Richardson County near DuBois, Humboldt and Dawson, Nebraska and graduated from Dawson High School in 1939.

He was baptized at the Bern Presbyterian Church at Bern, Kansas.

He married Norma Jean Patten at Falls City, Nebraska September 5, 1941. They farmed at Dawson until moving to Herman in 1956.

He worked in the nursery and landscaping business prior to his employment with the Fruehof Company and later with Union Pacific as a boilermaker. After his retirement in 1982 he enjoyed crafts and woodworking and his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Norma; a daughter, Mary Jane Weatherly; a grandson, Michael Weatherly and one brother, Wayne Mullins.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Marlene Mullins, Arlington; two daughters and sons-in-law, Diane (Mrs. Carl) Lorenzen of Blair and Pamela (Mrs. Bill) Cornish of Tekamah; 13 grandchildren, David, Patrick and Susan Mullins, Leslie, Jennifer and Matthew Lorenzen, Laura, Nancy, Julie, Angela, Lisa and Allison Cornish, Jill Weatherly and one sister, Mary Ann Vaughn of Dawson.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
