Norma Jean Mullins, 66

Services for Norma Jean Mullins, 66 of Herman who died at Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha December 9, 1990 after suffering a heart attack will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 12 at the Herman United Methodist Church. Rev. Larry Orvis will officiate. Burial will be in the Herman Cemetery.

Norma Jean Patten was born July 30, 1924 at Lincoln, Nebraska to Irene Hinshaw and Charles Patten. She attended school at Lincoln and Dawson, Nebraska.

She married Kenneth Mullins September 5, 1941 at Falls City, Nebraska. They farmed in the Dawson area after their marriage and in 1956 moved to Herman where she resided until her death.

She worked for Memorial Community Hospital in Blair for 25 years, retiring as an X-ray technician.

She was involved in many community areas in Herman. She had served on the Herman Village Board and was also mayor. She was a member of the Herman Boosters Club and Herman United Methodist Church.

After her retirement she was occupied by creating and selling crafts.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother and two half-brothers.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Marlene Mullins, Arlington; and daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Carl Lorenzen, Blair; Pamela and Bill Cornish, Mary Jane and Bob Weatherly, both of Tekamah. Her grandchildren, Dave and Rebecca Mullins of North Muskegon, Michigan; Patrick Mullins, Hastings, Nebraska; Susan Mullins, Arlington; Leslie Lorenzen, Lincoln, Nebraska; Jennifer Lorenzen and Matthew Lorenzen, both of Blair; Laura Cornish, Boulder, Colorado; Nancy Cornish, Hastings; Julie Cornish, Angela Cornish, Lisa Cornish and Allison Cornish, all of Tekamah; and Michael Weatherly and Jill Weatherly, both of Tekamah; and a half-brother, Theodore Dappen, Wichita, Kansas also survive her.
