Gary W. Mundorf, 51

Gary W. Mundorf, 51, of San Pedro, Calif., a Blair native, died Thursday, Aug. 27, 1998, at his home.

Services were Sept. 2 at the Gamby Chapel, Lomita, Calif. Pastor Richard Freeman of the Ocean View Baptist Church officiated. Burial was in Green Hills Memorial Park, Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.

Gary Willus Mundorf was born Oct. 5, 1946 in Blair to Willus and Bernice Mundorf.

He graduated from Blair High School in 1965. When he was 19, he drove to California in his Corvette and took with him his strong work ethics and values.

He worked at Todd Shipyards in Carson as welding supervisor, which allowed his innovative and creative concept of converting Jaguar engines to grow into a prosperous business, that allowed him to expand and manifest his business ideals.

He had lived in the San Pedro area for 29 years and operated his business of Jag’s Services, Inc., at Carson, Calif.

He was survived by his wife, Michelle; one son, Gary Jr. of Harbor City, Calif.; one daughter, Sonya Scott and her husband, Adam of Harbor City; his parents, Willus and Bernice Mundorf of Blair; two brothers, Dennis, and his wife, Dianna, of Omaha and Steve of Atlantic, Iowa; two sisters, Linda Briggs, and husband, George, of Herman and Carol Sparks of Lawrence, Kan.; two grandsons, Christopher and Isaiah Scott of Harbor City and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be directed to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blaire where his grandmother, Syrilda Mundorf, lived for many years before her death in 1997.
