Charles P. Christensen, the son of Nels and Johanna Christensen, was born on a farm near Herman, Nebraska on March 9, 1883 and passed from this life suddenly at the Tekamah Senior Citizenā€˜s home on Friday, November 11, 1977 at the age of 94 years, 8 months and 2 days.

He was raised on the farm, the place of his birth, growing to manhood there, in his declining years he took up residency in the home of Glenn and Shirley Christensen, he became a committed member of their family. Mr. Christensen liked to garden. Flowers, potatoes, tomatoes, and the things of the soil do not grow in a ? and this suited Uncle Charlie just fine. He was fascinated by clocks and enjoyed repairing them. He was handy with his hands and loved to sit by the hour making knick-knacks and novelty things which he then would give to those he loved.

In his childhood Uncle Charlie was reared in the Lutheran Faith. This training, plus his closeness to the soil, gave him an inner respect for God which sustained him throughout the trying times of his life. On his 90th birthday his friend and pastor, the Rev. Walter G. Millett, gave him a large print Bible as a gift from the Church.

Mr. Christensen in middle life was untied in marriage o Anna Gutshaw. The couple made their home in Blair, Nebraska where they lived happily together. Anna passed away August 4, 1972.
