MRS. HELENA TOFT DIED SAT., JUNE 17

Mrs. Helena Toft of Fremont, but well known here, died at her home there last Saturday, June 17th. She was 84 years old.

Mrs. Toft was born November 25, 1876 on a farm near Orum west of Blair. She grew to womanhood in that area and on November 30, 1899 she married Peter Toft. The couple lived on a farm in the Orum area until 1918 when they moved to Fremont. They resided in Fremont until 1931 when they decided to return to the farm in this county. They continued as farmers until Mr. Toft’s death in September, 1937.

Mrs. Toft then returned to live in Fremont, remaining there the rest of her life.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Ray (Mirtie) Fagerquist of Arlington; Mrs. Ted (Gertrude) Moyer of Blair; and Mrs. Rose Mae Larsen of West Bend, Wisconsin. A sister, Mrs. Emma Andreasen, lives in Fremont. There are eleven grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren.

One son, Earl, and a grandson, Terry, preceded her in death.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Toft were charter members of the Danish Lutheran church of Orum.

ARLINGTON NEWS -- MRS. HELENA TOFT BURIED ON TUESDAY

Mrs. Helena Toft of Fremont passed away at her home Saturday morning. A prayer service was held at the Bader Funeral Home in Fremont Tuesday afternoon at 1:30, followed by services at the Orum Lutheran Church at 2:30 P.M. with burial in the Orum cemetery. Mrs. Toft is the mother of Mrs. Ted Moyer and Mrs. Ray Fagerquist of Arlington.
