BRUCE D. TOMASEK, 52

Bruce D. Tomasek, 52, of Omaha, died Friday, Aug. 6, 2004, at Immanuel Hospital from heart complications.

Funeral services were Monday, Aug. 9, at Heafey-Hoffman-Dworak-Cutler. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery.

Bruce D. Tomasek was born Dec. 22, 1951, in Norfolk to Arnold and Wanda Tomasek.

He was a 1970 graduate of Pierce High School, and attended heavy equipment school in Tyler, Texas.

On Nov. 16, 1974, he married Angela Luebe at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pierce.

Mr. Tomasek worked construction for several years and was street superintendent for the City of Aurora; grounds superintendent at Hastings College; and had also worked at the Blair Garden Center. He was employed as grounds superintendent at Metropolitan Community College in Omaha.

He belonged to the Nebraska Arbor Day Foundation. He enjoyed planting and growing trees and flowers with his grandsons.

He is survived by his wife, Angela; daughter, Mandi, and fiancé, Chris, all of Omaha; son, Tobi, of Kansas city; two grandsons; father, Arnold Tomasek of Beemer; brothers and sisters-in-law, Brent and Kim of Taylor Falls, Minn., Bryan and Marty of Norfolk; sisters and brother-in-law, Brenda and John McCarthy of Wisner and Jody Jazwick of Platte Center; 10 nephews, seven nieces and several great-nieces and nephews, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda Tomasek; maternal and paternal grandparents; father-in-law and mother-in-law.
