#1 Services For Mrs. Wardell Held Tuesday

Funeral services for Mrs. Merle Wardell were held Tuesday afternoon at the Kennard Methodist Church. Burial was made in the Blair Cemetery beside Mrs. Wardell’s mother the late Mrs. Nels M. Jensen.

A large crowd of friends and relatives, both from this area and from a distance attended the services. Mrs. Wardell had been very active in many community things and as a result had made many close friends and was known to many people. She had served for a number of years as organist at the Kennard Methodist Church; she had led a girls’ 4-H group; she had been interested in school, community and county affairs. She had served as Secretary of the P.T.A. and for a time was Treasurer of her church.

A long illness had forced an end to many of these activities, but she maintained a strong interest in their welfare at all times.

She is survived by her husband, Merle; sons, Richard, David and Robert; daughter, Anne; her father, Nels M. Jensen; sisters, Mrs. C. K. Ross (Myrtle) of Omaha and Mrs. John Loomis (Mildred) of Brookfield, Ohio; brothers, Harold Jensen and Alton Jensen of Blair and Dr. Marshall Jensen of Winterpark, Fla.
