John Lochlin Tracy died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E. L. Cain, at 5707 Flourence B’lv’d, at 3:30 Sunday morning from uremic poisoning, following a paralytic stroke last Wednesday morning. The end came peacefully with all the children at his bed side. The body was brought up from Omaha in an auto hearse this morning and was laid in state from 10 o’clock until the hour for the funeral, 2 o’clock. Rev. C. N. Dawson, of Omaha, had charge of the funeral services, assisted by Rev. J. W. Lewis. Deceased was born at Portsmouth, Ohio, Nov. 16th, 1835, and was therefore past 80 years of age. He was married to Mary Jane Nichols, Jan. 6th, 1859. They removed to Mt. Pleasant, Ia., in 1865 and to this city in 1883, which was their home until Mrs. Tracy’s death May 27th, 1920, since which time Mr. Tracy has made his home with his children. He was made a Mason at Abdington, Ia., in 1870 and transferred his membership here shortly after he came to make this his home. The Masons had charge of the services at the cemetery. He is survived by five daughters, Mrs. J. L. Edwards of this city; Mrs. U. S. Cain of Fremont; Mrs. E. L. Cain and Mrs. Bandle of Omaha; and Mrs. Frank Dixon of Tekamah; and two sons, J. G. and W. G. Tracy of Omaha. The bereaved family has the sympathy of their many Blair friends.

DEATH OF J. L. TRACY

J. L. Tracy, for many years a resident of Blair, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E. L. Cain in Omaha, last Monday, the 29th inst., at the advanced age of 80 years. He came to Blair with his wife and family in the year 1880 and lived here continuously until the death of his wife, about six years ago, since which time he has made his home with his children in Omaha the greater part of the time.

He had been in poor health for some years and in his infirmities his children have given him the tenderest care. Quite recently he came to Blair and remained here for some time where he could near a daughter, Mrs. J. L. Edwards of this city. He is survived by seven children, two sons and five daughters, who are Gilbert and William G.; Mrs. E. L. Cain and Mrs. A. D. Bandle, all residents of Omaha; Mrs. J. L. Edwards of this city; Mrs. U.S. Cain of Fremont; and Mrs. Frank Dixon of Burt county.

Deceased was a member of the Methodist church and of the Masonic fraternity.

The body was brought to Blair on Wednesday morning and the funeral held at the Methodist Church at 2 p.m., Rev. C. N. Dawson, pastor of Deitz Memorial Church, Omaha, preaching the sermon, and the Masonic fraternity of the city assisting in the rites. A male quartette consisting of Messrs. Mead, Moore, Dixon and Lewis, sang. Interment was made in the Blair Cemetery.
