Leonard Munk, 93

Leonard Munk, 93, of Blair, died Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Services were Tuesday, Dec. 21, at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Burial was in the Blair Cemetery.

Leonard T. P. Munk was born Oct. 9, 1906, to Dennis Miller P. Munk and Dagmer Camilla Eye in Blair. He was confirmed on May 7, 1922, at the Danish Lutheran Church in Blair. He attended North School in Blair.

On June 22, 1927, he married Helen Antill in Harlan, Iowa.

He learned the welding business from his father, and owned a shop in Arlington in the 1950’s.

He later sold the shop and began farming in the Blair area while he continued to operate a portable welding service.

He resided on his land for 68 years and moved to Good Shepherd Home in 1998 after an auto accident. He was a life-long member of the First Lutheran Church.

He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Virginia and Robert Faltys of Omaha; and Ruth Plucar of Omaha; a son and daughter-in-law, Norman and Maxine Munk of Broomfield, Colo.; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a son, Melvin, and a granddaughter, Rhonda.

Memorials are suggested to Good Shepherd Home or First Lutheran Church.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
