The death of Louis H. Munk last Thursday came as quite a shock to this community, for while it was known that he was suffering from tuberculosis he had been up and around so recently that the news of his death came as a surprise to his many friends. The funeral was held at the Danish church at 2 o’clock Sunday, P. Lang officiating. The large attendance indicated the high standing afternoon, Rev. H. Nelson and Rev. N. of Mr. Munk in the community. He was born at Argo, Neb., December 4, 1874, so was in his 49th year. When he was nine years old his parents moved to Craig, Neb., where he lived until the spring of 1921, when he moved, with his parents, to the farm near Blair. On June 23rd, 1899, he was married to Miss Laura B. Jensen, of Greatinger, Ia. Besides the wife he leaves three brothers, Miller, of this city, Chris, of Hartwell, Neb., and Anton, of Cozad, Neb. All were present for the funeral services. Also Mrs. Chris Munk and Anton’s daughter, Miss Esther Munk. The bereaved family have the sincere sympathy of many friends.

Louis H. Munk Dies After A Long Illness

Louis H. Munk departed this life Thursday, June 14, 1923, his death occurring at his home just northeast of the city, from tuberculosis, having been afflicted with the disease for many months, yet able to be up and around until almost the closing hour of his life.

Deceased was born at Argo, Nebr., December 4, 1874, and was 48 years, 6 months and 10 days old. When nine years of age he, with his parents, located near Craig where he was reared to young manhood, and in 1891 he and his parents moved to a farm near Blair and he has since lived near Blair, moving from the farm now owned and occupied by Joe Johnson, west of town to the place where he spent his last days.

On June 23, 1899, he was happily married to Miss Laura I. Jensen, of Greatinger, Iowa, who survives him, together with three brothers, C. F., A. E. and Miller Munk, and a large circle of friends to mourn his death. He was recognized as a kind, loving husband and brother and was highly esteemed by all who knew him.

The funeral was held at the Danish Lutheran church, of which he was a faithful member, on Sunday and was one of the largest ever held from that church. Revs. Nielsen and Lang had charge of the obsequies.

Louis H Munk was born at Argo, Nebr. on Dec. 4, 1874, and died at his home in Blair on June 14, 1923 at the age of 48 years, 6 months and 10 days.

At the age of 9 years he moved with his parents to a farm near Craig, Nebr. where he lived until the spring of 1891 when the family moved to the farm near Blair, and he has since made this place his home.

On June 23, 1899 he was married to Miss Laura P. Jensen of Greatinger, Iowa.

His death came suddenly as a result of a short illness brought about by the taking of a severe cold which developed into bronchial trouble, which with a weak heart resulted seriously. It has been a pleasure to have known Mr. Munk. He was a man of excellent habits, a real gentleman and a consistent Christian, having all his life been a faithful member of the Danish Lutheran church.

He leaves to mourn him his wife and three brothers, Miller Munk of Blair, Chris Munk of Hartnell, Nebr. and Anton of Cozad, Nebr.

The funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Danish church, and interment was made in the Blair cemetery.
