Father Of Blair Banker Dead At 85

Long Time County Resident Dies in Omaha at home of Daughter

J. S. Hedelund, father of George T. Hedelund of the Washington County Bank and a long time Washington county resident, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Stockdale, in Omaha last Tuesday, January 10th.

Mr. Hedelund was born in Denmark April 15th, 1853 and came to Blair with his parents in 1884 when he was 29 years of age. He lived in Blair and Washington county continuously from that time until 1921 when he moved to Omaha as a place of residence.

The deceased was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothea, who died in October, 1932. They were the parents of eleven children and there are, at this time, nineteen grandchildren.

Services are being held at the first English Lutheran church in Benson at 2:30 p.m. this afternoon (Thursday), the service being in charge of Rev. N. P. Lang, of Chicago who is an old time neighbor and friend of the family.

Interment will be made at the Springwell cemetery in Omaha.
