Howard Baker Died At Hospital Early Wednesday

Howard W. Baker, of 716 North 16th Street, died early Wednesday. He died at Memorial Community Hospital where he had been a patient.

The deceased was 61 years of age, having been born at Manning, Iowa, April 21st, 1914.

Mr. Baker had been associated with the Korshoj Construction Company of Blair for a number of years.

He is survived by his wife, the former Grace McIntosh; by his father Roy Baker and his mother Mrs. Mabel Morris.

There are five children, two daughters and three sons. The daughters are Mrs. Loren (Bonnie) Mathison, of Omaha; and Mrs. Norman (Cheryl) Jipp, of Ft. Calhoun.

The sons are Robert Baker, of Arlington; Steven Baker and Dan Baker, both of Blair. There are 14 grandchildren.

There are three sisters and three brothers. The sisters are Mrs. Phyllis Scott and Mrs. Eileen Andrews, both of whom live in Ohio; Mrs. Agnes Mapes, of Omaha. The brothers are Harold Baker, of California; Gale Baker and Arlo Baker, both of Council Bluffs.

Funeral services will be held at the Campbell Mortuary Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. Robert Bee of St. Mary’s, Episcopal Church will conduct the service.

Burial will be made in the Blair Cemetery.
