Services Held for Vesta Mae Baker

Funeral services for Vesta Mae Baker were held at the United Methodist Church in Weeping Water on Saturday August 25, 1984 the Rev. Mark M Richardson officiating.

Mrs. Pearl Groesser was organist Mrs. Norma Rupp soloist Pallbearers were Randy Baker Ron Williby, Craig Owen, Steve Peck Roger Delay and Gary Peeks. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery Weeping Water Colbert Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Vesta Mae Baker, 85

Vesta Mae Baker was born in Avoca, Nebraska on November 27, 1899, daughter of Hattie and Everett Taylor.

She moved to Weeping Water as a child and graduated from High school with the class of 1918.

On June 12, 1918 she married Sam Baker; four children were born to the union.

She was a lifetime member of the Methodist Church and a member of the Royal Neighbors Lodge serving as recorder for many years.

She moved to Blair, Nebraska in 1963 and spent the last years of her life in the Crowell home.

She died August 22, 1984 Blair, Nebraska. Three brothers preceded her in death.

She is survived by her four children: Ivan Baker, Viola, Illinois; Margaret Peck, Herman, Nebraska; Lewis Baker and Charles Baker of Weeping Water; eight grandchildren and thirteen great- grandchildren.
