DONALD TRIERWEILER, 57 - - 4/2/40 - 9/11/97

Donald J. Trierweiler, 57, of Harlan, Iowa, died Thursday, Sept. 11, 1997 at Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.

Services were Saturday at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Harlan. Rev. Richard Gubbels officiated. Burial was in the Harlan Cemetery.

Trierweiler was born April 2, 1940 to Raymond Michael and Corrine Marie (Blum) Trierweiler at Defiance, Iowa. He was baptized at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Buck Grove, Iowa and confirmed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Dow City, Iowa. He attended Dow City Community School through the ninth grade and then attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Earling, graduating in 1958.

On April 4, 1961, he married Darlene Ann Gross at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Earling. On Sept. 14, 1991, he married Mary Ann Porter in Harlan. He worked in the agricultural field, was employed at Farmland Foods and was in maintenance at the Country Care Center south of Harlan at the time of his death.

He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church.

Survivors are his wife, Mary Ann, of Harlan; his children, Russell Trierweiler and friend, Lori Kruger of Denison, Iowa; Tina Reed and her husband, John of Kiron, Iowa; David Trierweiler and his wife, Sara of Woodbine, Iowa; Jacqueline Trierweiler of Schleswig, Iowa; Thomas Trierweiler and his wife, Cindy of Sioux City, Iowa; and Daniel Trierweiler of the U.S. Navy and his fiancé Jodi Labrie; brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Margaret Trierweiler of Denison; Dick and Diane Trierweiler of Cheyenne, Wyo.; Phil and Donna Trierweiler of Earling; a sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Michael Wilcox of Blair; 16 grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and step-father, Nick Bissen.

Casket bearers were Russ Trierweiler, Terry Clyde, Tom Trierweiler, Dave Trierweiler, Dan Trierweiler and Rusty Ballantyne.

Pauley Funeral Home in Harlan was in charge of arrangements.
