Bonnie J. Barley, 70

Bonnie J. Barley, 70, of Arlington, died Friday, Sept. 8, 2000, at the A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.

Funeral services were held on Monday, Sept. 11 at the Arlington Community Church in Arlington.

The Rev. Lynn Martin officiated. The Rev. Raymond Avidano officiated at the committal, held in Orchard City Cemetery.

Bonnie J. Barley was born on Jan. 25, 1930, in Neligh to Kenneth and Lucy (Voorhies) Miller.

She grew up at Neligh and was a graduate of Neligh High School. She then moved to Fremont, and lived there until 1963, when she moved to California. She was an administrative assistant at Hughes Aircraft Co. in Culver City, Calif., for 20 years.

She married Ray Barley in 1974 in Las Vegas, Nev.

Mrs. Barley moved to Chambers in 1985, and then to Arlington in 1988. She served as librarian at the Arlington Library from 1991 to 1996. She moved to the Pathfinder House in Fremont in May of 1998, and then to the A.J. Merrick Manor in May of 1999.

Mrs. Barley was a member of the Arlington Community Church and served on the music committee at the church, and she was active at the Over-60-Center at Arlington.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Gail Dwyer of Arlington; a brother and sister-in-law, Duane and Enola Miller of Chambers; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Laura and Carlyle Vietor of Norfolk, Beverly and Don Gartner of Chambers, and Norma Hutchinson of Elgin; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a brother-in-law, Elvin Hutchinson.

Memorials are suggested to the Arlington Community Church and the Arlington Library.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington was in charge of arrangements.
