Gustave Ferdinand Munson

Gustave Ferdinand Munson, one of the early settlers in Blair, died at his home on east Lincoln street on last Tuesday, April 21, at 11:15 A.M.

He had been in poor health for over a year and during the winter he suffered several attacks of heart trouble, from which he finally died.

Mr. Munson was born in Sweden in the year 1858 and came to this city in his early manhood over forty years ago.

He was married to Miss Anna Heinrichs in Blair on February 26, 1896 and to this union four children were born, one dying in infancy. The wife passed away on December 31, 1915 from an attack of pneumonia and the husband was left to keep the family together which he did a very admirable manner.

For many years he has been the custodian of the county court house and in this position made many friends and acquaintances who will bear him many kindly memories.

The three surviving children are Elmer, aged twenty-seven years, who is in the employ of the Lee Kountze Hardware Co. of Omaha; Lillian, aged twenty-five years and Clifford aged nineteen years, both at home.

Funeral services were held this Thursday afternoon at 2 P.M. at the Methodist church with Rev. McProud officiating and interment was made in the Blair cemetery.
