Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 9 at First Lutheran Church in Blair for Viola Murphy, 76, who died at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair August 5, 1996. Burial will be 2 p.m. Friday in the Wakefield, Nebraska Cemetery.

A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home.

Viola Lucille Murphy was born May 16, 1920 at Spiker, Nebraska to Emil and Elsie Rasmussen Knudsen. She attended Cumming City School.

She lived in Wakefield for over 30 years. She moved to Blair in 1990 and lived with her mother.

On August 5, 1950, she married Harold “Pat” Murphy in a triple wedding ceremony, shared by her two brothers.

Her husband, Harold preceded her in death in 1982. She was also preceded in death by her father and one brother, Laverne Knudsen.

She is survived by her mother, Elsie Knudsen, Blair; two sisters, Shirley Bowman, Blair and Hazel Gilliam, Omaha; four brothers, Don Knudsen, Omaha; Vernon “Babe” Knudsen, Collinsville, Illinois; Earl Knudsen, Pueblo, Colorado and Jerry Knudsen, Lakeport, California and numerous nephews and nieces.
