Darla K. Christensen, 46, of Fremont, died Tuesday, June 12, 2001, at A. J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 16, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont, with the Rev. Leland Foreman of the First Baptist Church of Fremont officiating. There is no visitation. Interment will be at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.

Darla K. Christensen was born Jan. 30, 1955, in Fremont to Clyde and Ada (Reker) Brandon. She grew up at Fontanelle and Oakland. She attended Arlington High School for two years before graduating from Oakland High School. She moved to Fremont in 1971.

On Sept. 17, 1977, she married Wendel Christensen at Fremont.

She was a 1984 graduate of Metro Tech College in Omaha, where she obtained a degree in cooking and child care.

She was employed at the former Iron Mike’s Restaurant in Fremont and at Al’s Cafe. She worked at the Juvenile Probation Office at the Dodge County Courthouse in Fremont.

Mrs. Christensen was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Fremont, and was a former member of First Baptist Church in Fremont.

She is survived by her husband, Wendell, a daughter, Amanda Rae Christensen, of Fremont, brother and sister-in-law, Duane and Marvelee Brandon of Fremont; five sisters, Beverly Bryant of Seattle, Wash.; Betty (Mrs. Lowell) Jensen, Audrey (Mrs. James) Hancock, Diana (Mrs. Don) Fisher, and Vicki McLaughlin, all of Fremont.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Clyde Brandon, and two sisters, Marceline Depue and Gloria Jean Brandon.

Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont is in charge of arrangements.
