Evelyn Faulkner, 85
Evelyn Faulkner, 85, of Blair, died Monday, Aug. 15, 2005, at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair. Graveside services were held Thursday at the Blair Cemetery.
Evelyn Faulkner was born May 28, 1920, in Blair to Peter and Hazel (Hooks) Hagge. She graduated from Blair High School in 1937 and from the California Beauty School in Omaha in January 1939.
She worked at Brandeis and Kilpatrick’s stores in Omaha, the Blair Telephone Company, and Anderson Pharmacy in Blair, and was the part-owner of The Budget Shop in Blair. She played piano for Christmas programs and various organizations in the area for many years.
On July 21, 1938, she married Robert Welton at Glenwood, Iowa. The couple farmed near Blair until Mr. Welton’s death in 1962. She then married Virgil Faulkner in 1971; he died in September 2000.
Mrs. Faulkner was a member of First Baptist Church, Summer’s Sunshine Club, Eastern Star, and several card clubs.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Ray Jensen of Blair; two granddaughters; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ethel and Merlin Sorensen of Harlan, Iowa; and cousins; step-daughters, Margo and Don Land of Oregon, and Denise Harrington of California; many nieces and nephews.
Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church or Crowell Memorial Home in Blair.
Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
