Services Held For Josephine Murray Friday

Funeral services were at First Christian Church in Fremont Friday for Josephine Murray, 85, of Fremont who died Tuesday evening in Arbor Manor Nursing Home.

Rev. Doran Myers conducted the services. Burial was in Ridge Cemetery.

Josephine Murray was born March 21, 1897, in Uehling and lived most of her life in Fremont. She graduated from Fremont High School and was a member of First Christian Church and the World War I Mothers Club.

She married Arthur Rowe on May 1, 1920. He died on April 12, 1944. She married James Murray on March 22, 1950. He survives.

Other survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Phyllis) Monke of Arlington; three sons, Robert F. Rowe of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; Raymond P. Rowe of O’Neill and Ronald A. Rowe of Rockville, Maryland,; a brother, E. E. Johnson of Colorado Springs, Colorado; two sisters, Mrs. Edna Skoog of Omaha and Mrs. George (Mary) Kocina of Minneapolis, Minnesota; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Ludvigsen Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

Note: she will be found in FindaGrave under Rowe, as she was buried by her first husband, and the name Rowe is on the double headstone. However, her 2nd husband was James Murray.
