Mrs. Patrick Murray

We are called to chronicle the sad fact that death has again entered our community. Mrs. Patrick Murray who lived about four miles from town died at 6 o’clock Tuesday of paralytic stroke. She was born in Ireland, May 30, 1844, so was 68 years, 1 month and 22 days of age.

She has been an inhabitant of this county for thirty-five years. Surviving her are her husband and eight children all of whom are grown. Mrs. D. Tevis, of Arlington, Mr. W. D. Lewis, of Council Bluffs, Mrs. W. A. VanHuss and Mrs. Patrick Macksin, of Blair; Richard, Thomas, John and Daniel who were still at home, also a sister, Mrs. C. J. Hermann, of South Omaha.

The funeral was held at the Catholic church at 10:30, Wednesday morning, Father O’Driscoll officiating. Interment was made in the Blair cemetery.

Mrs. Patrick Murray died at her home southwest of Blair Monday morning from apoplexy and the funeral was held from the Catholic church in this city at 10:30 o’clock Wednesday, Father O’Driscoll officiating. Mrs. Murray, who had lived here for the past thirty-five years was born in Ireland, May 30, 1844, and leaves a husband and eight grown children. Thomas, Richard, John and Daniel, who live at home; Mrs. W. A. VanHuss and Mrs. Patrick Mackin of Blair, and Mrs. W. D. Lewis of Council Bluffs, and Mrs. D. Tevis of Arlington. She was a sister of Mrs. C. J. Hemann of South Omaha.

Mrs. Patrick Murray suffered a severe paralytic stroke last Friday at her home three miles west of town and, while she seemed to rally some death came at about 7 o’clock Monday morning. The funeral was held at the Catholic church at 10:30 this morning, Father O’Driscoll officiating, and interment made in the Catholic cemetery. Mrs. Murray was born in Ireland, May 30th, 1844 and was therefore in her 69th year. She had lived in this county for over thirty-five years. Besides her husband she leaves eight grown children, Thomas, Richard, John and Daniel, who live at home; Mrs. D. Tevis, of Arlington, Mrs. W. A. Van Huss and Mrs. Patrick Mackin, of this city, and Mrs. W. D. Lewis of Council Bluffs. Also a sister, Mrs. C. J. Hamann of South Omaha. She was a good wife and mother and will be greatly missed in the home she has served so faithfully for so many years.
