VIOLET TROWBRIDGE, 90

Funeral services for Violet Trowbridge, 90, of Blair, will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2001, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Tekamah. Interment will be at the Tekamah Cemetery.

Mrs. Trowbridge, formerly of Tekamah, died Friday, Jan. 26, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair.

Violet Maggie Trowbridge was born Jan. 7, 1911, in Geddes, S. D., to Carl and Maggie (Violin) Ahrens.

She was baptized on Jan. 24, 1915, at St. Paul’s Evangelical Church in Armour, S. D.

She joined the roll of the Yankton Sioux Tribe in South Dakota on June 7, 1921. On Nov. 20, 1946, she married Merritt Trowbridge in Hiawatha, Kan.

Mrs. Trowbridge lived in Geddes, S. D., Omaha, Herman and later Tekamah, where she owned and operated Vi’s Café for several years. She had lived in Blair for the past six years, spending the last five in Good Shepherd Lutheran Home.

She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Tekamah.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews, including David Ahrens of Blair.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Merritt; eight brothers and sisters, Phillip, Carl, Fred and Herbert Ahrens; Daizy Randal, Mabel Wood, Connie Thompson and Helen Giesen.

Memorials are suggested to Emmanuel Lutheran Church or Good Shepherd Lutheran Home.
