WIDOW OF T. L. TUCKER IS DEAD; FUNERAL WAS HELD HERE TUESDAY

Mrs. Aurelia Tucker, widow of the late Timothy L. tucker of Blair and a resident of this region for 62 years, died Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. T. A. Baldwin, at Tekamah. Mrs. Tucker was 81 years old.

As Aurelia Mason, daughter of John and Lucy Mason, she was born near Maquoketa, Iowa, May 15, 1857. In 1866 she came with her parents to a farm near Tekamah, where she spent her earlier life.

She was married February 22, 1875, to T. L. Tucker in Blair. They resided on farms in Burt and Washington Counties until retiring due to old age. Then they moved into Blair. Mr. Tucker died here July 28, 1935, and since that time the widow had resided at Tekamah with her daughter, Mrs. Baldwin.

Of the eight children born to the Tuckers, three died in infancy and two, Mrs. May VanDeusen and Mrs. Goldie Johnson, died after reaching womanhood. Three children survive: Mrs. Baldwin and Harry Tucker of Tekamah and Mrs. Nellie Clark of Western Springs, Illinois. There are three brothers, four sisters, 21 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Tucker united with the Presbyterian church in Blair many years ago, and in younger days was active locally in affairs of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union and the Women’s Relief Corps.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Baldwin home at Tekamah, the Rev. T. Porter Bennett of the Tekamah Methodist Church officiating. Interment followed in Blair cemetery.

MRS. T. L. TUCKER DIED SUNDAY

Mrs. Aurelia Mason Tucker, daughter of John E. and Lucy A. Mason, was born near Maquoketa, Iowa on May 15, 1857, and departed this life at the home of her daughter, Mrs. T. A. Baldwin, near Tekamah, Nebraska, on September 18, 1938, aged 81 years, 4 months and 3 days.

On February 22, 1857, she was married to T. L. Tucker at Blair, Nebraska. With her husband she resided on farms in Burt and Washington counties until the coming of old age made desirable their retirement, when they moved to Blair.

To Mr. and Mrs. Tucker were born eight children, three of whom died in infancy, and two, Mrs. May Van Deusen and Mrs. Goldie Johnson, died after reaching womanhood. Three children survive, Mrs. Pearl Baldwin, Tekamah; Mrs. Nellie Clark, Western Springs, Illinois; and Harry Tucker, Tekamah. She leaves three brothers, four sisters, twenty-one grandchildren, and seventeen great-grandchildren to mourn her departure.
