Agnes L. Farris, 88, of Fort Madison, Iowa, died Saturday, Sept. 24, 2005, at the Fort Madison Health Center in Fort Madison. As per her wishes, her body was cremated and private family services will be held at a later date.

Agnes Lorraine Farris was born October 14, 1916, in Decatur to Charles Dudley Lockhart and Retta Anna (Rumbly) Lockhart. She married Edgar Harris (Ned) Sackett. He passed away and she later married James David Farris.

Mrs. Farris was a dress buyer for Brandeis in Omaha and for the May Company in Denver, Colo., and in California. She was of the Presbyterian faith and enjoyed social activities and playing Bridge.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Ned L. and Rebecca Sackett of Daphne, Ala.; four granddaughters; 11 great-grandchildren; one step-daughter and husband Patricia and Norman Shamburg of Tekamah; one brother and sister-in-law Charles and Catherine Lockhart of Tekamah; three sisters and brothers-in-law Florence Mae and Keith Palmer of Tekamah, Helen and Norman Matzen of Blair, and Bernice Jean and Ronald Ericksen of Omaha.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Ned, and James who died in 1989; two brothers Max (Sam) D. Lockhart and Edgar Lockhart; and two sisters (Mary) Anne Williams and Hazel Irene Winslade.
