Patricia A. Nelson, 81

Patricia A. Nelson, 81, of Blair, died Monday, Feb. 2, 2009, at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 6, at Grace United Methodist Church in Kennard Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Visitation will also be held at the church on Friday, one hour prior to services.

Patricia A. Larson was born Oct. 8, 1927, in Laurel to Raymond and Maude (Clark) Larson. She moved to Oakland at the age of 5 and was a 1944 graduate of Oakland High School. She attended Wayne State Teachers College, and taught in rural schools in the Oakland area.

On April 10, 1949, she married J. Emery Nelson at the First United Methodist in Oakland. After their marriage, the couple moved to Blair, where Mrs. Nelson was the office manager at the Blair Clinic for 36 years.

Mrs. Nelson and her husband, along with her husband’s brother and sister-in-law, Lester “Gus” and Charis Nelson, were all owners of the Nelson Brothers clothier in Blair until 1984.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Blair, the United Methodist Women, and the Evening Circle; former member and past Worthy Matron of the Washington chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, and former member of Chapter HL of PEO, all of Blair.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Deb Nelson of Beatrice; daughter and son-in-law, Prudy and Bill Cemer of Blair; five grandchildren and spouses, Chad and Mimi Cemer, Ryan and Megan Nelson, Nick and Hilary Cemer, Blake and Sara Cemer and Erin and T.J. Schlake; six great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Virginia Larson of Oakland; brother-n-law, Merlin W. “Curly” Nelson, also of Oakland; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Emery, in Aug. of 1993; a brother, William “Bill” Larson; and great-grandson, Tyler Cemer.

Memorials are suggested to the Crowell Memorial Home or First United Methodist Church in Blair.
