SERVICES HELD FOR FORMER ARLINGTON LADY

Ella Mabel Tucker was born August 16, 1890 at Arlington, Nebraska to William and Melissa Wassum.

On June 16, 1909 she was married to Ollie K. Tucker at Waterloo, where the couple continued to live for most of their married life.

Ella had worked as a pastry cook at two Omaha hospitals and had made her home in Waterloo for over 60 years, previous to moving to the Good Shepherd Home in Blair several months ago.

She was a member of the Waterloo Church of Christ.

Mrs. Tucker passed away June 20 at the Blair Memorial Hospital at the age of 81 years, 10 months and 4 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband in December of 1968.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Carl Buhl of Fremont and Mrs. Russell Sharpe of Long Beach, California; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Claude Vorhies of Upton, Wyo.; and Mrs. Fred Raddatz of Waterloo.

Services were held June 24 at 2 p.m. at Swanson Funeral Home in Valley with Rev. Dan King officiating. Mrs. John Love sang “Sweet Hour of Prayer.”

Pallbearers were Gent Burt, John Love, Gordon McElwain, Bernard Roerick, Purl Timmerberg and Max Wrigg.

Interment was in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Elkhorn.
