SWIFT DEATH TAKES MRS. PERCY TUCKER

HAD LIVED IN FT. CALHOUN VICINITY FOR MORE THAN HALF A CENTURY

Sudden and unexpected death in the form of an instantly fatal heart attack, claimed Mrs. Percy Tucker, 59-year-old Ft. Calhoun housewife, Saturday evening. Although she had suffered from a heart ailment for several years, Mrs. Tucker had been in apparently good health the day of her passing, spending the afternoon shopping and visiting friends in Ft. Calhoun and Blair.

The Rev. John P. Brooks, minister of the Blair Methodist church conducted funeral rites at Ft. Calhoun Presbyterian church on Wednesday afternoon, and interment was in Ft. Calhoun cemetery.

As Katie Anna Lorenzen, Mrs. Tucker was born in Jasper county, Ia., December 22, 1884; her mother died when she was only two years old. In 1887, the family came to Nebraska and settled in the Ft. Calhoun vicinity, where Mrs. Tucker spent the remainder of her life.

Her marriage to Percy Tucker took place on December 28, 1910. Four children were born to the Tuckers, two of whom died in infancy. Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Pfc. Harry L. Tucker of Scott Field, Ill.; and a daughter, Mrs. Robert Petersen, at home. Also surviving are two brothers, Henry Lorenzen of Blair, William on the old home place in the Long Creek neighborhood; and a sister, Miss Lulu, who resides with William, and another sister, Mrs. Carrie Browning of Blair. One granddaughter also survives.

MRS. P. C. TUCKER IS DEATH VICTIM

Katherine Anna Tucker, wife of P. C. Tucker, of Calhoun died suddenly Saturday evening at 9:15 from a heart attack. She had been a sufferer from a heart ailment for years but of late had seemed better and the end came as a shock to the family.

Deceased was born to the late Mr. and Mrs. John Lorenzen on December 22, 1884, at Newton, Iowa, and when an infant the family moved to this county settling on a farm west of Calhoun where she grew to womanhood.

In 1910 she was married to Percy C. Tucker and to this union four children were born, two of them dying in infancy. The two living children are Harry Tucker, in the armed forces and stationed at Scott Field, Illinois; and a daughter, Mrs. Lorraine Petersen, whose husband is also in the armed forces and is stationed in the Panama Zone.

Besides the husband and the two children, she leaves two brothers, Henry and William Lorenzen; and two sisters, Lulu Lorenzen at home and Mrs. Clark Browning of Blair.

Mrs. Tucker was a good wife and mother and leaves not only the family and relatives but a host of friends who mourn her death.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Presbyterian church in Calhoun and interment was made in the Calhoun cemetery.
