Viora M. Nelson, 80

Viora M. Nelson, 80, of Fort Calhoun, died July 28, 2001, at Immanuel Hospital in Omaha. Her body has been bequeathed to Creighton University.

Viora M. Nelson was born Feb. 14, 1921, in Central City to Emmet and Myrtle Nelson.

She grew up in Wolbach. “Vi”, as she was called by her family and friends, will be remembered as a loving and caring person who gave so much to her family and many friends.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Also, she was one of the last of the remaining “Rosie the Riveters.”

She is survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Leah Jane of Fort Calhoun, Loren and Mary of Omaha, Larry and Sue Nelson of Flemming, Mo, sisters and brother-in-law, John and Leona Campbell of Omaha, Dorothy Wagner of Fresno, Calif., Gerry Fuller of Fremont, Bernetta Goodrich of Landers, Wyo., and sister-in-law, Caryl Nelson of Fort Calhoun, and numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Darlene, and brothers, Harley, Denton and Vinton.
