Man, 52, Dies. Excessive Heat Blamed

Wendell Nelson Died At His Home Tuesday

Wendell Nelson, 52, and well known Blair man, died early Tuesday afternoon of a heart attack suffered at his home on west Lincoln street. His condition was attributed to the extreme heat of the past week.

An employee of the Christensen Lumber Co. for the past four years, Mr. Nelson had been attending to his usual duties about the year. However, for several days he had complained about the heat and consulted a physician early Tuesday morning. He had been advised to stay at home and rest.

Prior to the fatal heart attack, Mr. Nelson had spent the day at his home. About 2 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, he noted more than usual discomfort and called his wife who in turn summoned a physician. He was dead before aid could be given.

Mr. Nelson was born at Oakland, Nebraska June 6, 1902. He had been reared in the Oakland community where he was married to Hazel Monson in 1925. Mrs. Nelson passed away August 1, 1942. On August 14, 1946 he was united in marriage to Mrs. Rosina Frahm and the couple have made their home in or near Blair since that time.

Mr. Nelson is survived by his wife, by two children and by three step-children. The children are Marjorie (Mrs. Wayne Harp) of Weston, Oregon, and Orville Nelson, of Atlantic, Georgia. The step-children are Arnold Frahm of Herman, Harold Frahm, of Blair and Mrs. Lloyd Kjeldgaard, of Tekamah. His mother, Mrs. Bona Nelson, of Oakland and four grandchildren also survive. Also surviving are four sisters. They are Mrs. Clifford Anderson, of Uehling, Mrs. John Linder, of Oakland, Mrs. Walford Lindberg, of Craig, Nebraska and Mrs. Robert, of Orient, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held at the First Lutheran Church tomorrow (Friday) afternoon at 2 o’clock with the Rev. H.C. Jorgensen officiating. Burial will be in charge of the Bendorf Funeral Home in Blair.
