C. CHRISTENSEN RITES AT ORUM

Funeral services for Chris Christensen, native of Denmark and a Washington County resident in former years, were held Monday at 2:30 p.m. at the Orum church, Rev. G. E. Moeller of Omaha officiating. Burial was made in the Orum cemetery under the direction of Bendorf Funeral Home.

Deceased passed away April 10 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Dora Sander of Omaha. He was born on June 7, 1862 in Astroop, Denmark, but had been in the United States as a resident of Nebraska since 1887.

Survivors include three sons, Marshall of Flint, Michigan; Chris Christensen, address unknown; and Nels Christensen of Kennard; three daughters, Mrs. K. T. Christensen of Bennington; Mrs. Tillie King and Mrs. Dora Sander of Omaha; two sisters, Mrs. Sena Wolff and Mrs. Paulina Knutsen of Orum; and two brothers, Jim Christensen of Winnebago and Pete Christensen of Oregon; also 35 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.

FORMER ORUM FARMER DIES-CHRIS CHRISTENSEN, 79, DIED IN OMAHA FRIDAY; FUNERAL MONDAY

Chris Christensen, 79, who farmed near Blair in former years, died Friday evening at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Dora Sander, 3022 Tucker Street, Omaha. Born at Astrup, Denmark, June 7, 1862, he had lived in Nebraska since coming to American in 1887.

Funeral services, arrangements in charge of the Bendorf Funeral Home of Blair, were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Orum Danish Lutheran Church, the Rev. George E. Moeller of Omaha officiating. Interment was in the Orum Cemetery.

Mr. Christensen’s wife died several months ago. Surviving him are three sons, Nels Christensen of Kennard, Marshall of Flint, Michigan, and Chris, address unknown; three daughters, Mrs. K. T. Christensen of Bennington, Mrs. Tillie King and Mrs. Sanders, both of Omaha. There are two sisters, Mrs. Sena Wolff and Mrs. Paulina Knutsen, both of Orum. Also surviving are 35 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
