Norris Lee Bailey, 81, of Blair, died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1999, at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair. Services were Wednesday, March 3, at the Campbell-Aman Funeral Chapel in Blair.

Burial was in the Tekamah Cemetery.

Norris Lee Bailey was born Sept. 24, 1917, to Vemer and Mary E (Salley) Bailey in Glenwood, Iowa.

He began farming with his father when the family moved to Decatur.

On Feb. 17, 1943, he married Mary Metzler in Omaha.

The couple farmed at the present site of Summit Lake west of Tekamah.

In 1952 they moved to Omaha where he worked in the parts department at Sidles Auto Parts Company.

They moved to Blair in 1971 where he was a member of the Blair Eagles.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; two sons and daughters-in- law, Larry and Denise Bailey of Westminister, S.C., and Ralph and Polly Bailey of Omaha; four grandchildren, Kelly Medlin, Scott Bailey, Andrea Bernard and Lucas Bailey; three great-grandchildren, Melissa, Lyndise and Shane; three sisters, Doris Miller of Blair, Edna Walters of Gretna and Helen Phelps of Decatur.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
