Karl M. Christensen a lifetime resident of the Washington County died last Friday, September 17th at the Eppley Care Center in Omaha. Death was attributed to cancer from which he had suffered many months.

The deceased was born at Wisner, Nebraska May 22, 1908, but moved to Washington County with his parents when still a small child. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Christensen farmed four miles west of Blair on the farm now owned by Gene Saville.

He grew up on the farm and was graduated from Blair High School. He followed farming as a livelihood until 1935, working on a number of places. In 1935 he began farming the home place which he continued to do until 1946 when he moved to Herman to join J. A. Jasperson in the garage business.

On January 1, 1937, he was married to Inger A. Knudsen who survived his death. The couple had no children.

He is survived by one brother, The Rev. Eric Christensen of Palmer, Kansas.

Funeral services were held at the First Lutheran Church in Blair on Monday, September 20th. The Rev. Robert Albers and Rev. John Petersen conducted the service.

Burial was made in the Blair Cemetery under the direction of the Bendorf Funeral Home.
