Kenneth L. Christensen, 59, of Wahoo died February 28 in Wahoo.

He was born April 21, 1927, in Herman.

Christensen was the Saunders County Superintendent of Schools at Wahoo, was past president of the Nebraska Superintendents Association.

He was also a coach, teacher and registrar at John F. Kennedy College in Wahoo, as well as registrar at Tarkio College in Missouri.

Christensen was also Director of the Parks and Recreation Board at Saunders County, and was a member of the Wahoo Chamber of Commerce, and a school board member at Wahoo.

He was an Elder at First Presbyterian Church; was a member of the PTA; the Lion’s Club; the VFW-Beaver-Bartek No. 4052; FOE Aerie No. 2971; and American Legion Post No. 82.

Christensen was a former semi-pro baseball player.

He was reared in the Tekamah area, and attended Dana College, where he also played baseball.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce of Wahoo; two sons, Michael of Wahoo and Kevin of Honolulu, Hawaii; two daughters, Mrs. Timothy (Odetta) Wacker of Fremont and Mrs. Kenny (Debra) Misfeldt of Lincoln; one sister, Mrs. Lela (Rose) Silverman of San Alselmo, California, and nine grandchildren.

Services were held Tuesday, March 3, at the First Presbyterian Church in Wahoo. Rev. Burton A. Knudsen officiated. Internment was in the Sunrise Cemetery in Wahoo.

Ericson-Pruess Funeral Home of Wahoo was in charge of arrangements.
