Services for Lydia Christensen, age 84, who died at Memorial Community Hospital January 17, 1992 after an apparent heart attack, were Monday, January 20 at First Lutheran Church, with burial in the Blair Cemetery.

Lydia Lily Witte was born on August 10, 1907 at Bennington, Nebraska. She was the daughter of George and Minnie “Schuman” Witte. She attended school in Bennington, Nebraska.

On February 17, 1926 she married Otto Christensen. They moved to rural Blair where she resided until her death.

She was a member of the Hillside Extension Club, Royal Neighbors, Memorial Community Auxiliary, a charter member of the Blair Fraternal Order of Eagles and a member of First Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Otto; parents, three sisters and three brothers.

Surviving her in death is her daughter and son-in-law, LaVonne and Darold Webster; son Lyle Christensen; three grandchildren, Bruce and Mark Webster, all of Blair and Debbie (Mrs. John) Sullivan, Woodbine, Iowa; six grandchildren, Jodi, Joel and Justin Sullivan; Dawn, Kyle and Cassandra Webster; one sister, Mrs. Mable Neumeyer, Bennington and one brother, Chester Witte, Omaha, Nebraska.
