Funeral services for 91 year old Frank Chris Fastenau were held on Thursday, March 27, 1986, at the Hope Lutheran Church of Smithfield, Nebraska.

Mr. Fastenau is the father of Mrs. Richard Charleston. Mr. Charleston is owner/pharmacist of the Blair West Pharmacy in Blair.

Mr. Fastenau was born November 11 in Gosper County, Nebraska. He passed away at Bertrand, Nebraska with burial in the Hope Lutheran Cemetery.

Mr. Fastenau received a Purple Heart and Distinguished Service medals on his 90th birthday through efforts of Congressman Hal Daub for Mr. Fastenau’s activities in World War I.

Mr. Fastenau is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Richard Charleston (Dell) of Omaha, son Mervin of Bertrand and son Francis of Grand Island, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
