SERVICES HELD FRIDAY FOR JOHN TURTSCHER

Funeral services were Friday, April 10, at Crosby Burket Colonial Chapel in Omaha for John Turtscher, 90, who died in Edmond, Oklahoma on April 6, 1981.

Rev. Norman Schroeder conducted the services. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in Omaha.

John Turtscher was born February 2, 1891 at Gretna, Nebraska to Thaddeus and Dora Turtscher. He was married and his wife, Marie, survives him. He farmed in the Bennington area and lived there until about six months ago when he and his wife moved to Edmond.

He is survived by his wife; one son, Kenneth Turtscher, Edmond; and one daughter, Dorothy (Mrs. Donald) Pfeiffer of Bennington. Two brothers, Henry Turtscher of Omaha and William Turtscher of Ogallala; three sisters, Emma Hamilton, El Paso,, Texas; Marie Bull, Omaha; and Laura Hansen, Papillion; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive him.

Pallbearers were Wesley Turtscher, Wendell Kronberg, Roger Hansen, Glen Hansen, John Brott and Marvin Reese.

Memorials may be given to St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bennington.

Crosby-Burket Colonial Chapel was in charge of arrangements for the services.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 10, at 1 p.m. at Crosby Burket Colonial Chapel, 11902 West Center Road, Omaha for John Turtscher, 90, who died in Edmond, Oklahoma.

Visitation will begin Thursday, April 9, at 2 p.m.

John Turtscher was a former resident of Bennington. He had been in Oklahoma for less than a year.

Further arrangements for the services are still pending on Wednesday.
