Harry Fedde Buried in German Cemetery Aug. 13

Mr. Harry Fedde of Bennington, died August 11th at the Crowell Memorial Home in Blair where he had resided for the past year.

Mr. Fedde was born December 18, 1887, at Irvington. His parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. Christian Fedde. He attended school at Irvington and on March 24, 1909, married Anna Steffan. They moved to a farm near Bennington in 1916 and in 1946 retired and moved into Bennington. Mrs. Fedde died in 1962.

Mr. Fedde for many years was a member of the Board of Directors of the Dornacher School. He was also a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church since 1937. He served as secretary of the Farmers Mutual Insurance Company, Washington County.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Harry Neuhaus (Lozene) of Omaha and Mrs. Wilford Gottsch (Erma) of Bennington and a son Rymer Fedde of Bennington; there are six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Margaret Fedde of Lincoln and Mrs. Fred Ohrt (Anna) of Omaha, his sister, also survive.

Funeral services were held on Friday, August 13, at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bennington. Rev. Norman Schroeder officiated. Burial was in the German Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Sidney Dillon, Chris Dillon, Arthur Petersen, Lloyd Nelson, Anton Matzen and Harry Ohrt.
