IRMA CECILIA TYSON, 88

Irma Cecilia Tyson, 88 of Blair, died Wednesday, May 17, 2000 at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 20, at the First United Methodist Church in Blair. Burial will be in the Herman Cemetery.

Irma was born on August 28, 1911 in Herman to A. W. and Maude (Brandow) Barge. She was a graduate of Herman High School. On April 17, 1931, she was united in marriage to Ned Tyson. He preceded her in death on November 11, 1983.

Irma was a member of the Herman Chapter of Eastern Star for over 50 years, Daughters of the Nile, hospital Auxiliary and First United Methodist Church.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, George and Nancy Tyson of Blair, and Tom and Sandy Tyson of Georgetown, Texas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Russell VanHorn of Omaha, and Nancy Jo and Doug Axtell of Salina, Kansas; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ned, and a brother, Harold.

Memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church or the Blair Rescue Squad.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
