Elizabeth Neu, 87

Services for Elizabeth M. Neu, 87 of Fremont who died May 25, 1992 at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont were Wednesday, May 27 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont. Rev. Charles Swanson officiated. Burial was in Memorial Cemetery.

Elizabeth Ernesti was born June 26, 1904 in Clearwater. She lived there until 1926 when she moved to a farm west of Neligh for five years.

She lived in Oakdale for 18 years. She lived in Bonesteel, South Dakota before moving to Fremont in 1953.

She was a sales clerk for the former Cook’s Paint, J.M. McDonald’s on Sixth Street, the McGill Hotel and was a clerk at J.C. Penney Co., all in Fremont.

She was a member of St, Patrick’s Catholic Church and St. Joan of Arc Circle in Fremont. She was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars War Mothers.

She married Oliver Hanen June 28, 1926 at Stanton. He preceded her in death July 18, 1982.

She is survived by two sons, Harold of Fremont and Samuel of Bennington; a daughter, Carol (Mrs. Melvin) Sorensen of Arlington; 11 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 22 great-grand-children and three step-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association.
