Robert Smith, 85, of Parkview Manor Died November 27

Robert Elmo Smith, a retired river construction worker, died at his apartment at Parkview Manor last Friday, November 27th. He was 85 years of age.

Mr. Smith was born at Aquila, Alabama, October 25th, 1885. He spent most of his youth in the south and engaged in river construction work which eventually brought him north to Nebraska.

He is survived by his wife, the former Mamie Palmer and by three daughters, 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

The daughters are Mrs. Dalla Hall, Craig, Nebraska; Mrs. James Madden, Denver, Colorado, and Mrs. John Williamson, Chicago, Ill.

Funeral services will be held this (Monday) afternoon at 2 P.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church at Decatur, Nebr. with the Rev. Joseph G. Werner conducting the service. Burial will be made in the Decatur Cemetery with the Campbell Mortuary of Blair in charge. Pallbearers will be Robert Smith III, Sherman Hall, John Maryott, Dale Rennerfeldt, Ted Jarosz and Eldon Farrens.
